📖 2. From Brick Kiln to Blackboard – Meena’s Story
At just 10 years old, Meena Kumari spent her days helping her parents at a brick kiln in rural Bihar. Education was a distant dream. But everything changed when Namarata Foundation’s Mobile School Van arrived in her village.
Our educators convinced her family to enroll her in our Bridge-to-School Program, where Meena quickly excelled in reading and math. Within a year, she was admitted to a government school in Class 5 — the first girl in her family to ever go to school.
“I want to become a teacher and help other girls like me learn.” – Meena
Today, Meena attends school regularly and even helps teach her younger siblings at home. Her journey symbolizes the power of access and encouragement.
